Bill Gollmitzer

 

Professor Gollmitzer is in his fifth year at Vincennes University where he teaches law enforcement courses in the College of Business and Public Service. Professor Gollmitzer is a native of Battle Ground, Indiana and graduated from Lafayette Central Catholic High School in 1979.

Professor Gollmitzer’s law enforcement career began here at Vincennes University where he earned an A.S. in Law Enforcement in 1981. After graduating from Vincennes University, Professor Gollmitzer enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served eleven years as a military policeman, accident investigator and criminal investigator.

Upon leaving the Marines, Professor Gollmitzer worked nine years as a police officer / community liaison officer for the city of Shreveport, Louisiana. In 2002 he switched agencies and joined the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office until his retirement in 2014 after working in a variety of positions.

In addition to his degree from Vincennes University, Professor Gollmitzer also earned a B.A. in criminal justice administration from Wiley College and an M.S. in criminal justice leadership and management from Sam Houston State University. Professor Gollmitzer now lives in Vincennes with his wife Kathy, a retired English teacher.
