Former VU player Cole Vicars begins his second season as the VU Blazer Baseball assistant coaching position. Vicars works closely with the Trailblazer hitters and as a defensive instructor.

Coach Vicars returned to VU after working with the successful Terre Haute South High School Summer AAU Baseball Team for two seasons.

Coach Vicars played two seasons for the Trailblazers (2008 as an outfielder and 2009 as an infielder) before transferring to Alcorn State to continue his playing career at the Div. I four-year level. During his stint at Alcorn State, Coach Vicars helped the program make its first NCAA Tournament appearance.

Upon completing his playing career at Alcorn State, Vicars completed his bachelor's degree in History in 2013 at Indiana State University.

Prior to Coach Vicars' arrival at VU as a player, he was a 2007 Indiana High School Baseball All-Star in recognition of his four-year prep career at Terre Haute South High School. He was a multi-sport athlete at Terre Haute South but focused on baseball.
