Garret Hansen | HAIL

November 15 - December 16, 2016

Garret Hansen’s HAIL will open Tuesday, November 15 at Vincennes University’s Shircliff Gallery of Art.  The exhibition will run through Friday, December 16. An artist talk will take place in the gallery on November 17, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (EST).

Roughly 40% of the population in the US owns a gun and there are enough guns - approximately 300 million - to arm nearly every man, woman, and child in the country.

Reflecting on this fact, photographer Garrett Hansen created stirring images from individual bullets and bullet holes in his exhibition, HAIL. Hail is a combination of several sets of black and white images that deal with the power of the single bullet as well as the broader culture of guns in America.
