Blazer Baseball plans fall/winter showcases;
Pro-style workouts put prep players in front of VU coaches
The Vincennes University Blazer Baseball Team will hold its 2016 Fall/Winter Showcases on: Saturday, Oct. 22, (rain date: Oct. 23) and Sunday, Nov. 6 (rain date: Nov. 13). The showcases are for top high school players who are seriously pursuing a future in college baseball. The workouts allow players to showcase their talents in front of the VU Baseball coaching staff.
Showcases will be at VU’s Jerry Blemker Baseball Field (1562 Old Terre Haute Road in Vincennes) and will be all-day events as the coaching staff will use the following schedule for both days:
· 10:15-10:45 Registration,
· 10:45- 11:00 Introduction of staff,
· 11:00 a.m. Showcase begins.

The showcases will be similar to pro-style workouts and will include the following:
· 60-yard sprint,
· On-field hitting (weather permitting),
· Pitching (includes live-game situations),
· Practice game, and,
· A tour of the VU campus.
*The showcase is limited to the first 64 players. Players MUST BE IN HIGH SCHOOL to attend.
The fee is $60 for Pre-Registration with the registration form, or $70 the day of the showcase. Checks should be made payable to: Vincennes University Baseball (fee includes t-shirt). Participants should bring cleats, a glove, a hat and baseball pants. Catchers should bring their own equipment.
There is a no-refund policy. If, for some reason, you are unable to attend or weather forces cancellation of both days, registered players will receive credit toward an upcoming showcase.

Jerry Blemker Field is located at 1562 Old Terre Haute Road.
Directions: From the U.S. 50/U.S. 41 Interchange on the north end of Vincennes, head south on Sixth Street and turn right onto Niblack Boulevard. Cross the railroad tracks at the stop sign and travel about a half-mile to the T in the road and turn right onto Old Terre Haute Road/Oliphant Drive. Jerry Blemker Field is about 200 feet ahead, on the left.
