Trailblazer Scholarship Fund - The VU Foundation awarded a record $1.4 million scholarship dollars of VU Foundation and University funds for the 2015-2016 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  

These included awards to students from 10 states across the country and 4 international awards.  

Currently the VU Foundation manages over 540 scholarship and department funds, with 259 new funds created in just the last 10 years.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.

#24 Vincennes University Lady Trailblazers’ Winning Steak Reaches 16 After Win at Olney Central

Olney, IL – The 24th ranked Lady Trailblazers traveled to Olney, Illinois and defeated the Lady Knights by the score of 80 – 60.

VU jumped on Olney Central early, doubling them up in the first quarter, leading 22 – 11 after the first 10 minutes of action. Sophomores Ladellia Maggett and Claudia Stan worked together to help build the early lead, combining for 21 of Vincennes’ first quarter points. VU continued to roll through the second quarter behind freshman Ivanda Hudjakova’s 6-point performance to a 9-point halftime lead.

Vincennes and Olney Central went back-and-forth in the final two quarters, but ultimately the Lady Trailblazers proved to be too much for Olney. Freshman Marquitta Easley came out firing in the third quarter scoring all 7 of her points within the 10-minute period.  Sophomore Mykel Roth dropped 6 of her 9 points in the third quarter also as Vincennes increased their lead to 13 going into the fourth. Freshman Janiya Davis led the charge in the final quarter of play scoring all 9 of her points in the period.

Ladellia Maggett lead the scoring for the Lady Trailblazers with a game-high 28 points. Maggett also added 6 assists and swiped 6 steals. Claudia Stan recorded yet another double-double for the second game in a row with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Stan has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in 5 of the last 6 Lady Trailblazers games. Ivanda Hudjakova rounded out the Vincennes players with double-figures in points with 12. Mykel Roth came close, with 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Lady Trailblazers will travel to Park Hills, MO to take on Mineral Area College on Monday, February 12th. Tip-off for this game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. eastern.
