Sprinkle Inks with Trevecca Nazarene

Vincennes, IN – VU Volleyball Sophomore Jordan Sprinkle has signed today to continue her academic and athletic career with Division II Trevecca Nazarene.

Sprinkle is a middle blocker/opposite hitter from Bristow, IN, and played her high school ball for Perry Central. Sprinkle had a phenomenal year, seeing action in all 38 matches for the Trailblazers during the 2016 season. She recorded 134 sets, 90 block assists, 100 blocks, and only 59 service errors. All of those marks rank in the top 50 in the NJCAA. Sprinkle was also a critical part of the Lady Trailblazers 29-and-9 record, and 3rd place finish in the District J Tournament, narrowly missing qualification for the NJCAA National Tournament. Sprinkle not only exceled on the court at VU, but also in the classroom, as Coach Sien commented that Sprinkle is also a candidate for NJCAA Academic All-American Honors.

Sprinkle weighed in on signing with TNU afterwards by saying, “"I'm very excited about signing with TNU, it is going to be a giant step for me. I was looking for a college that would challenge me, not only on the volleyball court, but mentally and spiritually as well. I'm really looking forward to learning and growing as a person at TNU."

Coach Sien raved about Sprinkle. “"I have the unique experience of both coaching against Jordan during her first year and now being her coach this past season. I have seen her game excel in all areas in the front row and in her first ball contact skills as well. She was an integral part of one of the greatest seasons in Vincennes University history which led to a ranking of #20 on the national poll.  I expect her to do very well at Trevecca Nazarene, with her best games still ahead of her.”

Sprinkle admits that she is excited to get her career as a Trojan started, but she will greatly miss VU. “My time at VU has been an unforgettable experience! I wouldn't trade these two years with Vincennes volleyball for anything! I met a lot of great people and grew tremendously as a volleyball player and a person. Couldn't be more thankful for the opportunity to play here my first two years!"

Good luck at Trevecca Nazarene next year Jordan!
