STATE GRANTS AND FORMS

Grants are money given to help students based on need and other eligibility factors. Grants do not have to be repaid. The amounts vary from year to year. To be considered for state grants, you have to submit your FAFSA by April 15th each year. Some state scholarships and tuition remissions require separate application. State Grant

Frank O'Bannon Grant

The Frand O'Bannon Grant will help with tuition and regularly assessed fees for up to 15 credits each semester is based on need. The amount of money you can receive varies each year depending on the dollars available and the number of students who apply. You must be enrolled full-time to receive an O'Bannon grant.

Twenty-first Century Scholars Grant

The Twenty-first Century Scholars Grant is for income-eligible Indiana 7th and 8th graders who enroll in the program and fulfill a pledge of good citizenship are promised the cost of four years of college tuition and regularly assessed fees at any participating public college or university in Indiana. Up to 15 credits of tuition each semester as well as the student activity fee are covered.

Adult Student Grant

The Adult Student Grant, part of the Indiana's “You Can. Go Back.” program, offers a renewable $2,000 grant to assist returning adult students in starting or completing an associate degree, bachelor’s degree or certificate. To qualify, students must be financially independent as determined by the FAFSA, demonstrate financial need and be enrolled in at least six credit hours.

Workforce Ready Grant

The Workforce Ready Grant, part of Indiana's Next Level Jobs initiative, pays tuition and regularly assessed fees for qualifying high-value certificates (in the fields of Advanced Manufacturing, Building Construction, Health Sciences, Information Technology & Business Technology and Transportation & Logistics) at Vincennes University. The grant is available for two years and covers up to the number of credits required by the qualifying program.

Workforce Ready Grant funds are awarded as a last dollar grant each semester. (Regularly assessed fees include Technology Fees and Capital Improvement Fees associated with each eligible credit hour enrolled, as well as student activity fees when applicable. It does not cover the cost of textbooks, tool kits, uniforms, lab fees, division fees or room & board.)

Indiana Commission for Higher Education provides the program description, requirements, and application process for each state tuition assistance program available for eligible military service members and their children or spouse who will be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a state educational institution.
