National Junior College Athletic Association Logo

At VU, we believe sports play an important role in the overall purpose of an educational institution. We support a well-rounded intercollegiate sports program for both men and women and have a strong presence in the NJCAA where we can claim several national championships. But we are equally proud of our individual All-American and All-American Academic athletes who have used their talent to continue their education at four-year colleges.

#4 Vincennes Defeats #5 Eastern Florida State in Comeback Thriller on the Final Day of the Kiwanis Classic

Vincennes, IN- #4 VU outlasts #5 Eastern Florida State 83-78 behind a career-high 34 points by Isaiah Tisdale! Freshman Ty Gadsden added 14, and Sophomore Rodney Culver had a big-13 to help the Trailblazers rebound from a 15-point deficit with 6 minutes remaining!

The first-half lived up to the hype you can expect out of an NJCAA top-5 match-up. Vincennes went into half-time with a 44-38 lead, but they didn’t get this lead easily. The early part of the game saw the lead change hands 7 times, and the score became tied an additional 10. The Trailblazers took steady control of the lead in-part to the scoring ability of sophomore Isaiah Tisdale, who had 19 points before the break.

VU struggled at the beginning of the second-half ultimately resulting in them not only losing their lead, but finding themselves down by 15 points with 6:00 minutes to go in the game. At which point freshmen Keith Clemons resurrected the Trailblazers chances by scoring 6 of his 9 points on back-to-back possessions. Clemons also got help from Isaiah Tisdale whose 3-point dagger with 15.2 second left in the game not only put the Trailblazers ahead, but also brought the fans in attendance at the P.E. Complex to their feet. Tisdale ended up finishing the game with a career-high 34 points.

With the Kiwanis Classic wrapped-up in dramatic fashion, the Vincennes Trailblazers set their sights on the Sodexo Classic starting Friday November 10th. VU will take on Triton at 7:00 p.m. EST
