National Junior College Athletic Association Logo

At VU, we believe sports play an important role in the overall purpose of an educational institution. We support a well-rounded intercollegiate sports program for both men and women and have a strong presence in the NJCAA where we can claim several national championships. But we are equally proud of our individual All-American and All-American Academic athletes who have used their talent to continue their education at four-year colleges.

Vincennes, IN- #23 Vincennes Lady Trailblazers defeated Olive-Harvey by a score of 126-26, in a game that saw 7 Blazers finish with double-digit points.

The first-half saw the Lady Trailblazers jump out to an 85-10 lead, started by a 24-0 run to begin the game. VU’s defense forced 30 turnovers, many leading to easy lay-ups. The Lady Trailblazers played very unselfish basketball in the first-half, recording 29 assists on 39 made field goals. At the break, VU already had 5 players score in double-figures, with Ladellia Maggett leading the way with 10 points and 9 assists.

After half-time, the pace of the game slowed as Vincennes continued to pull away from an out-matched Olive-Harvey team. Freshman Janiya Davis helped the Lady Trailblazers increase their lead with 3 of her 4 3-point field goals coming early in the second-half, on her way to an impressive 14 points.

Sophomore Mykel Roth lead all scoring with 19 points.  Fellow sophomores Claudia Stan, Ladellia Maggett, and Ashley Johnson reached double-figures with 16, 10, and 14. Freshmen Audrey Minix and Marquitta Easley both recorded career-high point totals of 13 and 10 as well.
