Student Support Services is a federally funded TRIO program which provides academic assistance, coaching, mentoring, and non-cognitive strategies to qualifying college students in all aspects of the college experience, with a goal to assist with retention, graduation, and transfer to four-year degree programs. The Secretary position reports to the Director for Student Support Services (Disability)

Working Hours:

  • Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Must be available for occasional evening and Saturdays (Start VU).

Responsibilities of the position are:

 

  • Greets and assists students, parents/family members, and/or other professionals seeking information regarding the Experience VU program

  • Processes applications for prospective participants, including following up with students, parents, health care professionals, and/or University personnel for documentation

  • Manages the Experience VU office and performs routine office duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Answering phone calls

  • Responding to email inquiries

  • Maintaining and updating student files and records

  • Purchasing and maintaining supplies

  • Maintaining equipment inventories

  • Rectifying monthly expenditures to Banner

  • Facilitates testing accommodations for students with disabilities

  • Prepares invoices and requisitions for vendor payments

  • Assist in Start VU days, orientation for new SSS students and parents, and other Department events

  • Maintain Department’s webpage

  • Assist with compiling the data for Annual Performance Review (APR)

Successful candidates will have:

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in Secretarial Science or applicable major

Facility Coordinator for Recreational Sports – Vincennes, IN

Full-Time

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for the position of Facility Coordinator for Recreational Sports.

The Facility Coordinator for Recreational Sports at Vincennes University is a full-time twelve-month support staff position with night and weekend responsibilities. The Facility Coordinator will provide leadership to ensure compliance with all regulations and standards. Promotes programs and services through marketing with an emphasis on student engagement. Develop fiscal year budgets and initiatives, and monitor all financial activity for fiscal responsibility. The Facility Coordinator for Recreational Sports reports to the Assistant Provost/Dean of Students for student affairs.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in P.E. Complex part-time student payroll for Kronos system.

  • Process and maintain P.E. Complex Room reservation requests

  • Assist in preparation of Facility Use Contracts and Agreements

  • Revise and disseminate P.E. Complex Open-Recreation schedule.

  • Create work orders when needed

  • The Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) Workforce Training Specialist is responsible for providing JAG services within a specific High School in Region 7. This position requires building relationships with educational institutions, employers, community organizations and the participating JAG school personnel. This position is responsible for fully implementing the JAG Model in an assigned school and achieving process standards and performance goals. WVUB Production Manager – Vincennes, IN

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for the position of Production Manager for WVUB radio. This position is a full-time support staff position with benefits.

 

The Production Manager works closely with the General Manager and the Program Director to create the overall sound and image of the station across all platforms.

  • Work with Director of Underwriting and Traffic department to ensure underwriting announcements air as scheduled and meet underwriting guidelines.

  • Write and produce promotional and underwriting on-air copy.

  • Write and produce content for station website and social media platforms.

  • Participate in regular meetings with the General Manager along with Director of Underwriting, Program Director and other staff as needed.

  • Work with students, faculty, and media partners as directed.

  • Maintain a positive attitude to ensure great relations with our staff, listeners, and clients.
  • Participate in remote broadcasts and other station promotions and events.

  • Occasional nights and weekends required.

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for a Maintenance Associate/HVAC Technician. The Maintenance Associate/HVAC Technician is responsible Install and repair campus heating and air quality systems, as well as refrigeration systems. They specialize in installation or repair, certain types of systems or equipment.

This position is responsible for:

  • Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of air conditioning, ventilation, heating, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Maintenance, repair, and PM of fan units, motors, valves, dampers, condensers, compressors, etc.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing, bending, climbing, carrying, reaching, handling, and use of fingers 50% or more of the work day.

  • Regular attendance is required for this position. Actual schedule contingent upon the needs of the department and Vincennes University.

Plumbing Maintenance Associate – Vincennes, IN

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for a Plumbing Maintenance Associate. The Plumbing Maintenance Associate is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal on the main campus and at remote locations as needed.

This position is responsible for:

  • Installation of new equipment and fixtures, plumbing, pipe-fitting
  • Repair and replacement of pumps, air compressors, steam-hot water and gas heaters, coils, etc

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for an Maintenance Associate/Mechanic. This is a full-time, support staff position reporting to the Director of the Physical Plant.

Responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of all University owned vehicles. The Mechanic Maintenance Associate is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all landscape/lawn care equipment.

This position is responsible for:

  • Troubleshoot and repair of gasoline and diesel engines, small engines, 2 and 4 cycle, all types of passenger and work vehicles, loaders, lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, sweepers, etc equipment.

  • Able to do all phases of automotive and bus repair (breaks, axle repair, engines, fuel systems, cooling, A/C and electrical) etc. Minor transmission repair, welding & cutting, fabrication.

  • Tractor and mower repairs (hydraulics, U-joints repairs, belts, blade, oil changes, minor welding repairs etc.)

  • Preventive maintenance on motor pool fleet, Physical Plant, and all University owned vehicles on the main campus and equipment.

  • Will operate and repair snow removal and assist with snow removal as needed.

  • Will operate and repair lawn maintenance equipment and assist with all phases of grounds duties as needed.

  • Other duties within the Physical Plant as assigned.

The successful candidate has:

  • Two years documented experience in grounds equipment and automotive/truck repair in the institutional, industrial, or commercial environment. Other related experience will be considered.

  • Possess a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or be able to acquire one within 90 days of hire.

  • Provide instructions to assistants and assist with training of new co-workers.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a crew.

  • Understand and follow all safety procedures and use of safety equipment.

  • Ability to organize and maintain work station/area.
