Human Subjects Research

Any research involving human subjects is protected by federal law and is, therefore, subject to review and approval. Vincennes University contracts for these services through University of Southern Indiana (USI). Mike Drysdale, Associate Professor of Psychology at VU, serves as the IRB Liaison on USI's IRB.

Although some research of human subjects is considered exempt, said determination cannot be made by the individual seeking to conduct the research. Faculty, staff, or students interested in human subjects research can contact Jennifer Holscher at (812) 888-4959 or jholscher@vinu.edu.

Additional information about human subjects research and the IRB at USI is available here, and at IRBNet, the system used by the IRB for submission of all research studies involving human subjects.
