Interior Designers make interior spaces functional, safe, and beautiful for almost every types of building: homes,  offices,  shopping malls,  restaurants,  and  businesses.   They  select  and  specify  colors, finishes, fabrics,  furniture,  flooring  and  wall  coverings,  lighting,  and  other  materials  to  create  useful  and  stylish interiors for buildings.   If you have creative talent and an eye for design, this may be the field for you.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the employment in the field of interior design is expected to grow 19% from 2010 to 2020.  The median annual salary in 2010 was $46,280.
