Head Track and Field Coach Blake
Blake Albrecht enters his 1st year at Vincennes University and his as head coach of the VU Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Teams. He also coaches VU Cross Country student-athletes to compete in the NJCAA Half-Marathon Championship Meet each season.
This cross country season, Coach Albrecht led VU to a pair of Region XII Titles for the men and the women, 8 total All-Region XII Athletes, Individual Region XII Titles by Sophomore EvanFranklin, and Anais Da Silva, and led the team to the highest-ever NJCAA National Ranking at #5 in the country. Anais Da Silva also became the first Vincennes athlete to win the Little State Division at the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships, as well as the Greater Louisville.
Classic. The team's continued on to the NJCAA National Cross Country Championships, where Sophomore Evan Franklin finihsed 6th overall, earning All-American Honors, running the fastest time at the National Meet by a VU Athlete, and captured the highest finish by a VU male athlete at the National Meet in school History. Sophomore Anais Da Silva also finished 6th place, earning All-American Honors, and broke her own school-record in the process. Albrecht was named the Men's & Women's Region XII Coach of the year for the team's success this season, and was even named the Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year.
Prior to VU, Blake Albrecht spent a year as a social studies teach, as well as track and cross country coach at Medora High School in Indiana, and was a 2015 graduate of Franklin College. While at FC, Albrecht was one of the program's best ever long distance athletes, and earned All-HCAC accolades on 3 separate occassions.

Assistant Coach Ariane Bell
Ariane Bell will be in her 3rd season coaching at VU, after graduating from Bethel College in the spring of 2015. As the throws coach, Coach Bell led Sophomore Jamesha Western to an Indoor Runner-up finish in the shot put at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships last season, and led Western to 3 NJCAA All-American finishes at the NJCAA Outdoor National Championships in Hutchinson, KS.
Bell was a two-time NJCAA National Championships qualifier in the weight throw and shot put during her VU career from 2010-12. She then transferred to Bethel and became NCCAA All-American in the weight throw and shot put. Bell was also the 2015 conference champion in the discus and a two-time conference champion in the shot put.
She was also a two-time state finals qualifier in high school.
Assistant Coach Tim Marsee
Tim Marsee has been coaching track & field athletes for 16 years and he is looking forward to his ninth highly successful year working with pole vaulters, throwers and multis for the Trailblazers when the 2017 spring season arrives. During that time, Marsee – who is a USATF Level I-certified coach - has helped VU to 18 national championships - 14 in pole vault, three in throwing events and two in multis.
Also, Trailblazer athletes working closely with Marsee have posted seven national runner-up finishes, while amassing more than 20 NJCAA All-American awards and more than 30 USTFCCCA All-American honors. Among the VU pole vaulters reaching All-American status in recent years was Marsee’s son, Blake. In addition, VU has had three national record-holders in events that Marsee focuses on.
As a result of all that success, Marsee is a three-time NJCAA Assistant Coach of the Year and was the 2015 USA Track & Field Association Assistant Coach of the Year for the Atlantic Division.
Along with the VU success, Marsee was the head track & field coach at South Knox High School for six years, registering a meet record of 279 wins and 24 losses plus individual state champions and record-holders. The victories included sectional championships in 2006 and ’07 and the 2006 Blue Chip Conference title. Marsee was the conference coach of the year that season as well.
Coach Marsee and his wife of 28 years, Sara, have two children, Brianne and Blake, and a granddaughter, Sydney Blake.
