Accounting, AS-CT

Accounting majors must obtain a minimum grade of C in each accounting course to receive the A.S. degree in Accounting

Funeral Service Education, AS-CT

Students must be admitted to Vincennes University Distance Education - Online Campus. Once admitted to the University, then the student will apply to the FSE program which has a separate admission process. Admission to the FSE program is granted each Fall semester by the Department Chair, Russell Ort. (Students may take general education classes prior to the fall semester that will apply towards the major requirements of the program.)
  • Distance Education students must complete a campus residency that includes up to 2 weeks at the Vincennes Campus to complete activities in the Restorative Art lab and a certification embalming at the campus or other selected sites. (The student is responsible for all expenses for traveling to and from the visit, as well as food and lodging expenses.)
    • The following course/s will require your physical presence: FNRL 250L – Embalming II Laboratory

General Studies - Technology Apprenticeship Concentration, AS-CT

This program is designed for non-traditional students who have attained Journeyman or equivalent in a skilled trade and wish to fulfill the basic requirements for an Associate degree. The program provides flexibility by allowing students to receive credit for training received through a certified Department of Labor apprenticeship program (7200 hours minimum) or an evaluation conducted by Vincennes University. In addition to these credits, students must complete selected general education courses and fulfill a minimum residency requirement of no less than fifteen credit hours through Vincennes University

Health Information Management, AS-CT

The Health Information Management Program requires that all students submit a criminal history report and a drug screen as instructed and at student's expense. Students should be aware that any previous or current conviction of a crime or current substance abuse may result in ineligibility to be admitted and or/continue in the program. Students are responsible for submitting (at their expense) any required health forms or other documentation required by the University/Professional Practice sites (PPE).
  • The following course/s will require your physical presence: HIMT 190 - Professional Practice, HIMT 240 - Professional Practice II (These course are only available in the Fall and Spring semesters for Distance Ed. students. Students will need to use different clinical sites for HIMT 190 and HIMT 240.)

Homeland Security and Public Safety, BS

Admission into this baccalaureate degree program is contingent on acceptance to Vincennes University and will require approval of the Homeland Security and Public Safety Baccalaureate Degree Department Chair and the Dean of Business and Convergent Technologies.
  • The following course will require your physical presence: HSPS 470: Internship in Public Safety. Additionally, HSPS 415: Intro to Terrorism and HSPS 490: Capstone in HSPS must be take in person if the student resides within 25 miles the Vincennes campus. (Unless an exception is approved by the Department Chair, Professor Lou Caprino)

This A.S. degree program is designed for students wishing to begin employment immediately upon receiving their degree. This A.S. degree program is designed for students wishing to transfer to a baccalaureate degree institution.

Pharmacy Technology, AS-CT

The course work will fulfill the Indiana training requirement for Pharmacy Technicians and prepare students to take the National Pharmacy Technician Exam.

Admission into this baccalaureate degree program requires the prospective student to possess an A.S. degree from an accredited institution. Acceptance into this program will be granted through the approval of the Technology Baccalaureate Degree Department Chair and the Dean of Technology.

MATH:
Students living in Knox County Indiana OR taking any class on the Main VU campus will need to take their exams in the Math Learning Center, Math Lab, in room G-7 of the McCormick Science Center on the Main VU campus. This is a math department rule.
