Vincennes University American Sign Language & Deaf Studies program is seeking applicants for adjunct faculty in the following subjects:

  • Communications

The successful applicant will have:

  • A Master’s degree in the core subject or at least 18 graduate hours in the content area.

  • Experience teaching at the college level is preferred.

  • Excellent oral and communication skills.American Sign Language fluency is preferable but not required.

Adjunct Faculty – Collision Repair – Vincennes, IN

Part-Time                                  

The Vincennes University College of Technology and Collision Repair Program at the Vincennes campus is seeking applicants for an Adjunct Collision Repair Instructor for the 2018 Spring Semester. This is a part-time adjunct, non-tenure track position, reporting to the Coordinator of the Collision Repair Program and the Dean of the College of Technology.

The successful applicant will have:

  • An Associate degree or Certificate in Collision Repair is preferred
  • Full-time work experience in Collision Repair for a minimum of three years.
  • I-CAR and/or ASE certifications in Collision Repair preferred
  • Applicants should have a broad knowledge of all disciplines within Collision Repair with a strong emphasis on refinishing.

Health Sciences Instructor – Indianapolis, IN

Part-Time

Vincennes University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Health Science Instructor at Ben Davis University. The contract is on a per semester basis with the opportunity to teach 3-9 credit hours (1-3 courses) each semester. Courses include: Community Health and Wellness and Introduction to Health Careers.

Daytime Only. Face-to-face courses are delivered between 9:20 am and 4:10pm on MWF/TR. Start Date: January 8, 2017.

This position is responsible for:

  • Develop syllabi for course and ensure course content meets accreditation requirements

  • Provide timely and meaning feedback to students on progress in course

  • Take attendance at the beginning of each class

Update student grades in the gradebook on a regular basis

The successful candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in the content area or a master’s degree in any content area with 18 graduate hours in the content area.

  • Previous experience teaching college level courses.

Early College Adjunct (Various Subjects) – Lawrenceburg, IN

Part-time                

Vincennes University is seeking applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor at Lawrenceburg High School in Lawrenceburg, IN.   Subjects include Spanish; French; Literature; Journalism; Speech and Composition.

The Early College Program at Lawrenceburg High School has openings for adjunct faculty to teach dual credit courses as part of an adjunct faculty pool. This is a non-tenure track faculty position, reporting primarily to the Assistant Dean of Early College Programs for Vincennes University in Lawrenceburg, IN.  Adjunct contracts are subject to sufficient student enrollment. Preference will be given to applicants experienced in teaching at both the high school and college level.

This position is responsible for:

• Teaching undergraduate/dual credit courses and associated labs.

• Participate in the development and implementation of assessment, including learning outcomes at the course, program, college, and university level.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Candidates should have the interest and expertise to teach their assigned courses in an open access college setting.

  • Master’s Degree in the content area, or

  • a Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in the content area.

  • High school teacher certification and/or experience working with high school students is preferred.

  • be able to teach rigorous college coursework to high school students.

  • be able to incorporate a variety of teaching strategies and technologies in the classroom.

  • be able to encourage and assist new students to develop skills and confidence.

  • be able to provide a challenging environment for the highly skilled student.

Math Adjunct Faculty – Vincennes, IN

Part-time                     

The Mathematics Department of the College of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics at Vincennes University is seeking applicants for an Adjunct instructor of Mathematics or part-time instructor of Mathematics.  This is a one-semester position, reporting to the Chairperson of the Department of Mathematics and the Dean of the College of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics.

This position is responsible for:

  • Teach 3 - 12 semester hours of math courses, developmental through college transfer courses
  • Participate in planning and assessing student and course success
  • Comply with all record keeping requirements
  • Other appropriate duties as assigned

Successful candidates will have:

  • Master’s degree in mathematics, or a related field, with a minimum of 18 semester hours of graduate level mathematics courses (the department may consider applicants with fewer than 18 graduate hours of mathematics for emergency credentialing)
  • Experience teaching developmental and transfer freshman and sophomore mathematics classes

Machining Instructor, Adjunct – Lebanon, IN

Part-time

Vincennes University, Gene Haas Training and Education Center in Lebanon Indiana is seeking an Adjunct Machining Instructor.                   

  • Under the supervision of the site director, this position performs classroom and laboratory instructional duties in manual, or CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining. This position requires a flexible schedule depending on the scheduling needs of industry and the department.

This position is responsible for:

  • Instruction of theory and hands on activities, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.

  • Prepare and/or maintain current course content and syllabi for course(s) taught.

  • Ensure that course is taught in accordance with the established syllabi, or customer criteria.

  • Recommend and implement adequate instructional materials for course.

  • Recommend and implement adequate laboratory facilities/equipment for assigned course.

  • Supervision of students.

    Successful candidates will have:

  • Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology or a related industrial discipline or certifications, with five (5) years direct experience in machine trades.
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial related field and some level of teaching or training experience are preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in operating mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses [both conventional and Computer Numeric Control (CNC)].
  • The applicant must be able to work in a team environment utilizing effective communication skills.
  • The applicant must also be able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and be able to develop programs and curricula to industry needs.
