ROTC

The ROTC program is a series of college elective courses, designed to teach leadership skills to students and commission future Officers as Second Lieutenants. Students who should consider ROTC possess academic discipline and a leadership mentality while still being a team player. They must be competitive, athletic, and physically fit.

Army ROTC

As a Second Lieutenant you will be a platoon leader with a responsibility for leading 30-45 soldiers. This responsibility includes training, planning, logistics, and personnel administration. Students who are on scholarship or contract will not be deployed while they are attending college. Second year students can contract and receive more financial benefits.

How to Participate in ROTC

While Vincennes University does not offer a resident ROTC program, students can still participate through the Wabash Battalion Army ROTC program by attending coursework with regional sister institutions.  Classes will be added to your Vincennes University schedule, but coursework will be completed at the partner institution's campus.

For students interested in Army ROTC, courses can be completed at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology or the University of Southern Indiana.  Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is the operational base of the Wabash Battalion.
