The young woman who is chosen Miss Vincennes University becomes an official representative and ambassador for the University. She is called on by the administration, alumni and others to welcome important visitors to campus and to welcome guests and participate in many campus events. Miss Vincennes University will compete in the Miss Indiana Scholarship Competition in June, and if she wins Miss Indiana will compete for the title of Miss America!

Wear the Crown - Wear it Proudly!

Scholarship, Success, Style and Service - the four points of the Miss America crown. Each contestant should excel in these areas. These tips can help you with a good start toward not only your success in competition, but to gain valuable skills and attributes that will last a lifetime!

Scholarship - Women compete for valuable scholarships offered throughout the MAO system. Dedication to your studies is one way to prove scholarship. Doing well in school helps empower you to achieve your personal and professional goals and the ability to express your opinions, talent, and intelligence. Scholarships are the cornerstone of the Miss America program.

Success - Being a part of the Miss America Organization provides an opportunity to gain additional life experience by working with professionals to enhance your personal and professional skills, and develop your performance-related talents. The Miss America journey can be one of the most rewarding experiences in your life. You will experience tremendous growth -  and along the way you will realize and develop previously untapped personal skills, talents and confidence. You will become more aware of your world around you and will be able to use this stage as a platform to share your passion with others through public service.

Style - It is important to develop your own style. Like your fingerprints - you are unique! Ask yourself what you would like people to remember about you. Once you have your style you will be able to wear it with confidence - the best addition to your wardrobe!

Service - In 1989, the Miss America Organization founded the platform concept, which requires each contestant to choose an issue she cares deeply about and is relevant to our society. Issues about community-service organizations, business and civic leadership and others are all worthy to lend your voice. As a titleholder you can use your stature to address your platform issues with others. Plan your platform fully. Remember - Miss America is about community leadership. Think through how you will work your platform to make a difference for others.
