Vincennes University is seeking applicants for the position of Learning Coach at McKenzie Center for Innovation & Technology (MCIT) in Indianapolis, IN. This part-time, Support Staff, position reports to the Assistant Dean of Instruction at University.

 

  • The Learning Coach position is designed to provide support to students in a one-on-one or in a small group setting for students in the MCIT Early College program. The learning coach will work closely with the teachers, guidance counselors, and coordinator to monitor the academic progress of the students who are struggling with the early college course.

 

This position is responsible for:

 

  • Provide academic coaching and support in English for students

     

  • Customize and craft effective plans that address student weakness and strengths

     

  • Assist, evaluate, develop, integrate, and support the students in learning

Clerk/Typist (Northeast Indiana/East Allen University) Ft. Wayne, IN

Vincennes University invites applications for the position of Clerk Typist for Northeast Indiana Early College Programs (Fort Wayne) and East Allen University(EAU). This is a part time Support Staff position requiring 28 hours per week for 12 months without benefits. EAU is an early college partnership between Vincennes University and East Allen County Schools (East Allen University) and Fort Wayne Community Schools (North Side High School). This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Instruction at EAU.

 

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • General secretarial duties including obtaining and distributing course syllabi, maintaining a record of curriculum changes, textbook lists, equipment, time sheets, vacation/sick leave records, informational pamphlets, and organizing a calendar of appointments and events.

  • Assisting faculty in obtaining course instructional materials, filing copies of banner grades, grade books, and final tests, and communicating with the appropriate division or office at the Vincennes campus.

  • Assisting the EAU assistant dean in completing and maintaining files for all faculty, including copies of resumes, transcripts, and AFAF forms, coordinating schedules between EAU and VU staff and faculty, registering students for VU classes, obtaining student A numbers, processing drop and add forms, receiving students and parents with inquiries about VU/EAU, maintaining graduation audits and disciplinary action records for all students, and receiving TAPS information and coordinating appropriate actions with the learning coach or dean.

Secretary I (Military Education) – Bremerton,WA

Vincennes University Military Education Program Washington site, to include Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton, Bangor, and Naval Hospital Bremerton sites as required. This is a full-time, support staff position with benefits located in Bremerton, WA.

Primary Function

Provide administrative and academic support for the Military Education Program Administrative Office on the Vincennes University, Vincennes Campus

This position is responsible for:

  • Data entry, preparing letters, answering phones and performing general office duties as assigned.
  • Performs various clerical and routine accounting tasks in support of site operations.
  • Procure and maintain required office supplies.
  • Track student registrations and tuition payments for both local and distance education site enrollments.

Plumbing Maintenance Associate – Vincennes, IN

Full-time

 

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for a Plumbing Maintenance Associate. The Plumbing Maintenance Associate is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal on the main campus and at remote locations as needed.

This position is responsible for:

  • Installation of new equipment and fixtures, plumbing, pipe-fitting
  • Repair and replacement of pumps, air compressors, steam-hot water and gas heaters, coils, etc
  • Maintenance and repair of steam lines, swimming pool equipment, irrigation systems, boilers, water softeners, cooling towers, etc.
  • Repair and/or replacement of all plumbing fixtures including:  toilets, urinals, sinks, faucets, water lines, sewer lines, and valves.

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for Site Manager at Generations in Ferdinand, IN. This is a part-time, support staff position.  

This position is responsible for:

  • Follows all regulations established by the County and State Health Departments, Indiana State Board of Health, FSSA and Generations.

  • Follows proper procedures, time and temperature principles during storage, preparation, holding and serving of food. Inventory will be used on a "first in-first out" principle.

  • Responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of the food production area, stock areas, equipment and utensils.

  • Follows standardized recipes/menus.

  • Assures that bulk food is packaged with site name, contents, number of servings and serving size.

  • Records daily usage of food and supplies on production sheets.

  • Assists with packaging homebound meal components.

  • Cleans, sanitizes and maintains all equipment.

  • Reports all work-related accidents to Nutrition Director.

  • Completes ServSafe class and obtains certification at Generations expense.

This position is responsible for:

  • Serve as secretary to the dean and department chairs;
  • Schedule and maintain appointments for College Dean;
  • Prepare confidential materials, including personnel matters for the Dean;
  • Handle the Dean’s correspondence, composing letters, emails, and responding to emails, letters and memos;

Field Counselor (Upward Bound) – Evansville, IN

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for the position of Field Counselor for the TRIO Upward Bound Program.  This will be a part time position during the school year that will require travel to target schools in Evansville.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Report to the Program Director

  2. Participate in ongoing training appropriate to fulfilling Upward Bound goals

  3. Provide tutoring and mentoring services to Upward Bound students at five target schools in the Evansville area

  4. Develop a positive working relationship between the Upward Bound office and school personnel in target schools

  5. Plan and implement weekly study sessions at each school

  7. Provide personal and career counseling to assist students in preparing for postsecondary education

Maintenance Associate/Mechanic – Vincennes, IN

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for an Maintenance Associate/Mechanic. This is a full-time, support staff position reporting to the Director of the Physical Plant.

Responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of all University owned vehicles. The Mechanic Maintenance Associate is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all landscape/lawn care equipment.

This position is responsible for:

  • Troubleshoot and repair of gasoline and diesel engines, small engines, 2 and 4 cycle, all types of passenger and work vehicles, loaders, lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, sweepers, etc equipment.
  • Able to do all phases of automotive and bus repair (breaks, axle repair, engines, fuel systems, cooling, A/C and electrical) etc. Minor transmission repair, welding & cutting, fabrication.
  • Tractor and mower repairs (hydraulics, U-joints repairs, belts, blade, oil changes, minor welding repairs etc.)
  • Preventive maintenance on motor pool fleet, Physical Plant, and all University owned vehicles on the main campus and equipment.
  • Will operate and repair snow removal and assist with snow removal as needed.
  • Will operate and repair lawn maintenance equipment and assist with all phases of grounds duties as needed.
  • Other duties within the Physical Plant as assigned.

The successful candidate has:

  • Two years documented experience in grounds equipment and automotive/truck repair in the institutional, industrial, or commercial environment. Other related experience will be considered.

  • Possess a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or be able to acquire one within 90 days of hire.

  • Provide instructions to assistants and assist with training of new co-workers.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a crew.

  • Understand and follow all safety procedures and use of safety equipment.

  • Ability to organize and maintain work station/area.
